Kenya's Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again come out to express his dissatisfaction at the treatment he is being accorded by Member's of Parliament Affiliated to the president in an escalating fall-out.

Speaking in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua reiterated he was elected alongside the President, as a team chosen by the people and he will not be intimated.

" If the President is dissatisfied with the support from Mt. Kenya, let him address it openly. Transparency is essential in our leadership. I will not be intimidated, nor will I buy into fear tactics." Gachagua stated.

The Deputy President, commenced his tour of the Mt Kenya East region, with stop-overs in Embu, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties, in what is presumably consolidating his Mt Kenya base, amidst Kingpinship contention with interior Cs Kithure Kindiki.

Rigathi, alleged Members Of Parliament, were bribed to oust him, in the wake of an impending impeachment speculations. The Deputy President however, insisted he will not be swayed.

"My focus is on the needs of the people, not on political maneuvering. I was entrusted with my position by the Kenyan people. I have no intention of resigning." Gachagua said.

Gachagua Claimed Government Is Offering MPs Ksh5M To Support His Impeachment Motion

Gachagua revealed that his opposers attempted to bribe county Woman Representative Njeri Maina and Senator James Murango, whom he noted declined in defiance.

"Njeri was called and they tried to sell her fear by telling her to sign for my impeachment but she declined. She was told to take Ksh.5 million but refused. Senator James Murango was also offered cash but he declined," he explained.

A Section of Member's of Parliament from the Mt Kenya region, have publicly come out to defend the deputy president, accusing the president of subjecting his deputy, to the same treatment he received as Dp during Uhuru Kenyatta's administration.

Political analysts are speculating the deputy president is following the footsteps of President Ruto, in his rise to the top seat during the 2022 general elections.

President Ruto, as deputy during their second term with Uhuru Kenyatta, accused the government of undermining him, withdrawing his security, stripping him off his official power's and mistreating MPs affiliated to him. He then went on to conduct nationwide rallies, a move that paid off with Sympathy votes a huge chunk of his rise to presidency.

The recent tactics being deployed by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, through rallies and Media interviews are alike, leaving analyst's speculating the Deputy President could be drumming up support to contest the top seat come 2027.
