Court rules Omar Lali is criminally liable for the murder of Keroche Heiress Tecra Muigai, recommends the DPP to institute charges against him.
A Nairobi Court has ruled that Omar Lali is criminally culpable of the murder of Tecra Muigai, the daughter to Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja and Keroche Breweries CEO.
Senior Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul, on Friday, October 19, recommended that the DPP should institute murder charges against Omar Lali.
In the ruling the magistrate said that there were inconsistencies in the account of how Tecra met her death.
According to the Magistrate, the account given by Omar Lali on what transpired during the accident, contradicted the findings of the postmortem report and the doctor’s findings.
Pursuant to the postmortem report tabled in Court during the inquest hearing, Tecra suffered severe head injuries which caused her death.
The court further said that there was no any other person at scene during the alleged accident except Tecra and her boyfriend Lari and therefore there was nobody else to corroborate or attack Omar Lali’s narrative.
It was the Court’s findings that the alleged fall of Tecra on the fateful night could not have occasioned such severe brain damage as evidenced in the postmortem report.
“To this end I find Omar Lali criminally culpable to the murder of Tecra Muigai and I therefore recommend DPP to exercise his powers pasted in him by the constitution and institute charges against Omar Lali.” Ruled Magistrate Zainab Abdul.
Following the Order, Omar Lali is set to face Charges against him, following the death if the Keroche Heiress.
