KENYA : Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has urged Kenyans not to pay taxes to government, consequently financially cripple President William Ruto's administration, stating this is the only way to remove President Ruto from power.
Speaking during an interview in one of the local radio stations on Monday December 9, 2024, Wanjigi said the public has resolved to remove President William Ruto from power, stating that the only unresolved issue was the timeline on when this was going to happen.
Wanjigi claimed that Kenyans are fed up with the political class that they see today and they believe the leaders do not represent people's interests but represent their own interest.
" I agree that Kenyas do not trust politicians that is why they are pushing on 'Fagia Wote' but Kenyans are longing for leadership. We are clear that this country has a resolution that is 'Ruto Must Go', the one resolution that is not clear is when." He said.
The Safina Party leader, called out President William Ruto, for rising into power through a Hustler Narrative, only to continue dining with dynasties, while imposing punitive taxation measures on the Hustlers.
" The government itself has caused disobedience to us as they have broken their social contract with us. Kenyans are paying illegality, the government is collecting taxes by false pretense" Wanjigi stated.
" Ruto came in and said this is a time for the hustler, not the dynasty. The system works for people with inherited power. If you are not part of the revenue estimates, how are you revenue raising raising in the finance bill? All tax law revenue-raising measures and laws are completely invalid." Wanjigi reiterated.
On the Constitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission, Wanjigi claimed one of Wiliam Ruto's biggest fears is forming an electoral commission. The vocal Businessman, IEBC will be the head of state's biggest fear because he has knowledge of a referendum that Kenyans intend to take, to amend the constitution for an early election and cut Ruto's term short.
In his closing remarks, Jimi Wanjigi praised revolutionary movements for driving economic and political change in Kenya. He also honoured the memory of youths who lost their lives during the Gen Z protests against the Finance Bill, 2024.
" Kenyan politics completely changed with the economic revolution and the demonstrations run by Gen Z in 2024. On that scope, I would like not to forget our heroes because 60 young Kenyans were killed by what Kenya National Human Rights Commission said was 'aggression of the police''.
