Ruto Warns Kenyans

KENYA : President William Ruto is seemingly under pressure to deliver on his numerous pre-election pledges, if his recent outbursts are anything to go by.

Kenyans on social media are not giving his administration space for a breather either, scrutinizing and tearing at every attempt from the government to carry out shady deals.

The Withdrawal of the Finance Bill 2024, following nationwide protests was the first stroke on the camel's back. Then came the formation of a broad-based government with the opposition, which intensified attacks on his administration.

Amidst the pressure of Withdrawing the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Kenya Electricity transmission Company deals with Adani and being forced to start seeking alternative investors, comes the pressure to constitute the Independent Electrol Boundaries Commission, IEBC.

The Kenya Kwanza's attempt to achieve universal Health Coverage through the Social Health Authority, has been met with negative publicity on various Social Media Platforms and so has the Government's plan to vaccinate livestock.

The head of state seems to have had enough. Speaking in Wajir County on Tuesday, December 10, President William Ruto admonished individuals opposed to every initiative his administration tries to undertake.

Citing the planned livestock Vaccination, President Ruto stated there are 'stupid individuals' who have made it their everyday job to find fault in his leadership's projects and undertakings, despite not being knowledgeable in the particular fields.

" There's an evil spirit in Kenya, some leaders churn out falsehoods and oppose everything for the sake of opposing, like the Cattle Vaccination plan. Maybe they don't have cattle." Ruto said.

"If you don't know about cattle, when we are having this conversation about livestock vaccination, just shut up'' the agitated head of state added.

He cautioned critics who have 'nothing meaningful to contribute to watch quietly as his administration implements the BETA Plan, without unnecessarily tainting beneficial initiative's.

The outburst, comes just a week after he called out social media users in the Country, stating some are obsessed with an 'evil spirit of objection.'

Speaking in Taita Taveta County on December 3, 2024, President William Ruto stated there's an opposition Spirit cropping up in Kenyans, one that's evil and hell-bent to reject each project his government initiates.

" There's an Evil Spirit of Opposition in Kenyans. They're opposing the affordable housing Project, they're opposed to goverment's plan to vaccinate livestock to avert illnesses, they do not want the new Health Insurance Scheme SHIF, they're opposed to the new university funding model and now they even oppose offerings in churches." an agitated Ruto said.

The head of State, went ahead to teardown Kenyans who were opposed to the Adani-JKIA Privatisation deal, stating those opposed to the deal have no clue on how to go about Airport's infrastructure renovation, adding they're just loud behind the Keyboard, spreading Propaganda on fields they're not experts in.

Ruto, claimed the Individuals opposed to the Nairobi-based International Airport lease, have never even set foot in an Airport all their life.

President Ruto, assured Kenyans that the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport will still be upgraded despite the cancellation of the procurement process between Kenya Airpots Authority (KAA) and Adani.

"What gain do you make when you stop the building of an airport in your country? Those who are opposing have never even been to an airport. I want to assure you that we will build a new airport. We may have stopped Adani from doing it. I was confident that he was going to build our airport and he was going to do a good job.'' Ruto said.

"But because of the law that bars us from engaging with people who have cases, we stopped it. But that does not mean we are not going to build the airport. We are going to get a new framework and work with people who believe in this country to build a new airport for us because that is how the future is going to look like,” he added.

President Ruto went ahead to exude confidence in his administration, maintaining that those who do not believe in the Kenya Kwanza leadership's ability to deliver on its manifesto are not going to succeed.

" The naysayers, the people who sabotage Kenya, the people who hate our country and those who don't believe in it will not succeed. We are going to change this country because we believe in it and we are going to do it because that is the right thing to do," the president asserted.
