Karua: Uganda & Burundi Military are Helping President Ruto Abduct Kenyans

Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has chastised President William Ruto for purportedly targeting young people who express dissent online, particularly through satire.

The Senior Counsel, Accuses President William Ruto of being Behind the Forced Disappearances of Young Kenyans, who have made a mockery of the head of the state, through social media Posts.

Speaking during an interview in one of the Local TV Stations on Monday, December 23, 2024, Karua alleged that the Government of Kenya, is working with security agencies from neighboring Countries, to carry out the Abductions.

According to Karua, the abduction squad is made up of both Kenyans and foreigners, including people from Uganda and Burundi, many of whom have military experience.

"The squad operates outside the police force. Their command is independent, and only Ruto can tell us who these people are. No wonder they don't introduce themselves when abducting citizens," Karua said.

"He would not be abducting young people just because they created satire on social media. It's not a criminal offense; it might be distasteful, but it's not worth harming them over," Karua said.

She urged the President to develop thicker skin and ignore the Satirical Social Media Posts.

"If you want to sit in the highest position in this country, you must arm yourself with asbestos. Don’t easily catch fire." She said.

Karua's Remarks, come amidst concerns over the rise in cases of abduction across the country.

In the Most Recent incidents, Unknown people believed to be security officers are said to have abducted a Social Media influencer, Peter Muteti for reportedly posting a controversial image of President William Ruto on his X account.

The family members who spoke to the press noted that the influencer shared the contentious post on Thursday, December 19, before deleting it hours later.

Barely three days after sharing the image, the social media influencer was allegedly abducted by four men in a Toyota Prado in Uthiru, Nairobi at around 9 am.

Moments after his alleged abduction, Muteti’s phone went off and he became inaccessible despite several attempts by the family to reach out to him.

Another family in Embu has come out demanding for the release of their son, Billy Mwangi, who was allegedly abducted in the same manner on Saturday afternoon after Sharing an AI-Generated Image, depicting 'President Ruto d3ad'.

Mwangi's family says he was forcibly taken away from a barber shop by four armed men who wore masks and were traveling in a double cabin pick up before speeding off towards the Embu-Nairobi Highway.

Embu Police Commander Samuel Muthamia who confirmed receiving the report of the alleged abduction, denied involvement of police officers from the area saying detectives in the area have commened investigations.

"The unfortunate bit here is that no one took the number plate of the double cabin, immediately after he was taken away his phone was switched off we are trying to find out his whereabouts. We have deployed all mechanisms of work to establish where he could be," Muthamia said.

Kenyans have since taken to Social Media Platforms calling out Security Agencies, seeking the release of the Young Man.

Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja last Month disclosed that a total of 57 cases of abductions have been reported since June 2024 to date.

Speaking while appearing before a Parliament committee on Thursday, November 7, Kanja noted that out of the 57 cases, 22 people have been found alive while 29 are still missing.

The Police IG further intimated that six victims of the abductions were found dead.

“The National Police Service has since recorded a total of 57 cases of kidnappings and abductions that were reported countrywide from June 2024 to date. 22 people have been found alive, 29 are still missing to date and six victims were found dead,” Kanja explained.

At the same time, the police boss reiterated that police do not abduct individuals, but they arrest and detain them in lawful facilities.

"Previously, I made it clear that police don't abduct or kidnap. Police only arrest, and we detain in the lawful facilities, that is within police stations. And after that, investigations are commenced immediately. Those who are found to meet the threshold of being taken to court are taken to court while those who don't are freed," Kanja remarked.
