Performance is Improving – President Ruto Says Ahead of 2024 KCSE Results Release

President William Ruto has disclosed that performance is improving in schools across the country.

In a statement on Thursday, January 9, ahead of the release of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, President Ruto noted that the education systems have continued to improve as the government enriches the curriculum.

The Head of State maintained that, for instance, more female learners were enrolling in schools and completing their education.

"We are glad that our education system keeps improving as we enrich the curriculum, hire more teachers and equip our schools with more learning materials and facilities.

"Consequently, performance is improving in schools all over the country. More girls, for instance, are now enrolling and completing their schooling," President Ruto remarked.

The president spoke after meeting Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba at State House Nairobi for a briefing ahead of the release of the KCSE results.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced that the results will be released at Mitihani House, Nairobi, on Thursday, January 9.

"Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba will today, 9th January, 2025 release the KCSE 2024 Examination results at New Mitihani House, South C, Nairobi, at 10 am," KNEC stated.

The 2024 KCSE examinations were conducted from October 22 to November 22, with 965,501 candidates sitting for the test across 10,754 examination centres nationwide.

To uphold the integrity of the examinations, KNEC implemented several stringent measures, with Ogamba declaring that any examination malpractice would be dealt with on an individual level.
