KENYA : A Business woman has gone viral for all the wrong reasons after she was captured on camera Urinating in a sufuria containing boiling soup meant for sale to customers.
The woman, who operates a butchery in Gwa Kungu, Ndaragwa Constituency in Nyandarua County, was in the video seen by JULISHA MEDIA, captured lifting her dress, lowering her inner shorts' and urinating in a container before emptying the urine in the soup.
George Maina, an area resident who spoke to JULISHA.CO.KE , stated that the video was secretly recorded by locals after rumors swirled around the Market Place that this had been her norm.
The Business Woman has since confessed that she did it to attract more customers and to make the soup more delicious. This, she believes is what has kept her business booming over the years.
Additionally, the woman allegedly confessed that she has been doing this daily for the last 6 years she has been in Business.
The video of the woman urinating and adding the urine to soup to add delicacy has raised mixed reactions among Kenyans on social media platforms.
Many Opined that Street food should be avoided by all means, if possible, stating that the preparation is mostly a health risk.
"This is why I don't eat food everywhere I go. You find that even the water that's used to prepare meals is filtered from sewage, especially in these towns and Cities" said Kinyua.
Others called for the arrest of the business woman, for putting the health of others at risk.
An earlier incident in Nairobi City last year caused public uproar after the state of chicken, smokies and smocha that goes for sale in the streets was revealed.
An impromptu crackdown on businesses in informal settlements by County Askaris discovered trolleys and hundreds of slaughtered chicken stored in dirty Public Washrooms.
The chickens, were allegedly meant for sale on the streets of Nairobi CBD later that evening. According to reports, some were not even real chickens, with 'long stalked Water birds that feed along sewages among the consignment.
