KENYA : Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is meeting Leaders from different parts of the country in a bid to push President William Ruto's Administration ouster come 2027.
On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the former DP met Members of the County Assembly of Kisii at his Wamunyoro Residence, Just a day after he held a meeting with Legislators from the Laikipia county.
Mr. Rigathi, is relentlessly pushing for the unity of legislators to see to it that the Kenya-kwanza administration does not secure re-election come 2027.
Gachagua had late last year stated that he will reveal his political future this year, arguing that President William Ruto is not fit to lead the country.
The Former Deputy President recently urged Kenyans not to re-elect Members of Parliament who supported his impeachment motion.
Gachagua, was speaking when he attended a church service on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the PCEA Emmanuel Matanya, Waguthiru Parish in Laikipia County.
Gachagua, faulted Legislators affiliated to the Mt Kenya Region, for supporting his 'state-sponsored' ouster motion, stating that greed has crowded their judgement, they would even betray their own kin.
" The big problem we have in the Mt. Kenya region is the quality of senators and MPs we elected. People who, for the right price, would sell their own mother" he said.
Gachagua went ahead to urge the Mt Kenya Region Voters not to Re-elect legislators who supported his impeachment saying, "Please do me the favour of not voting for MPs and Senators who impeached me".
The Former Dp took issue with President William Ruto for allegedly betraying the region through supporting his removal from office.
"Even if the president deceived me, didn’t he deceive the bishops too? His words came too early, revealing his true intentions. Had he been patient and allowed us to return in 2027, we’d have faced an unprecedented problem. We thank God for making the President show his true colours." said Gachagua.
He vowed to lead the Region back to government, revealing he will be working with allies to see President William Ruto is not re-elected come 2027.
He exuded confidence in the region's ability to oust the Kenya-kwanza administration.
"God willing, I will lead the Mt Kenya region into government. A government that respects and works for it's people. We have the numbers. All we need is to create unity and get the right friends. We have many friends and we will succeed." he noted.
Meanwhile, Gachagua emphasised the importance of unity, vigilance and gratitude towards God for the nation of Kenya, reflecting on the blessings the country has received, stating, "God has given us a great Nation of Kenya and a wonderful people Kenyans are".
He urged both the church and the Kenyan people to remain strong and vigilant, stressing that the nation must stay united in the face of any adversity.
"We cannot afford a broken nation and lawlessness. Not anymore," Gachagua said, calling for national peace and stability.
According to reports, The Former Deputy President is rallying the Region behind Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Since Gachagua's impeachment, President William Ruto has been avoiding the Mt Kenya Region, amid growing Dissent for his administration.
