Popular Mugithi musician Samuel Muchoki, widely known as Samidoh, has dismissed speculations on his retirement from the National Police Service, clarifying that he still actively serves as a police officer.
Samidoh, was Speaking on Friday, May 23, 2025 during a meeting hosted by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in his Karen residence. The DP had invited various artists from the Mt Kenya region to deliberate on how the government can support the creative industry.
In his speech, he introduced himself and detailed that he was an officer employed with the National Police Service (NPS).
He expressed that he did not want to say much. However, in the end, he posed the question: two-term? - a phrase that has been used to counter the one-term (wantam) phrase coined by the opposition leaders regarding the tenure of President William Ruto.
"My name is Samuel Muchoki. I am a gospel musician and others, and I also serve as a police officer. I do not talk much when my boss is present. Thank you for inviting us. Oh, Tutam?" he stated.
Recently, the musician went viral on social media after revellers were captured chanting 'wantam' at his event.
The video elicited mixed reactions, with some claiming that the wordings were taken out of context.
The singer also raised eyebrows over his recent actions when he posted a cryptic post talking about his death while celebrating his estranged wife, Edday Nderitu, as she marked her birthday.
The post can be summarised as Samidoh saying that in case he dies before his time, he lived to the fullest, tried his best, and should be remembered as a heart that burned with a flame.
The singer later deleted the post, but screenshots of his message went viral, with many Kenyans asking questions about what is going on with the singer, with many only speculating.
