CS Chirchir, Oparanya, Wandayi, Mbadi and Wahome Fire Govt Officials; Make New Appointments

Co-operatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Cabinet Secretary (Cs) Wycliffe Oparanya, Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi and National Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) John Mbadi have revoked appointments of several board officials.

Energy Cs Opiyo Wandayi, in gazette notice dated March 7, revoked the appointment of Jane Njeri Mwangi and appointed Martha Wanjiru Miano to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited.

Martha Wanjiru was appointed for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th of March 2025.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (e) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum appoints Martha Wanjiru Miano to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited,” the notice read.

Mbadi on his part, revoked the appointment of National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Director-General Stephen Ogenga as a Member of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board.

“In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 15 (1) (c) of the Accountants Act, 2008, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, revokes the appointment of Stephen Ogenga (Eng) as a Member of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board, with effect from the 7th of March 2025,” read the notice in part.

At the same time, Roads Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir appointed Wilson Mwai to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (f) of the Kenya Ports Authority Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport appoint Wilson Mwai to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th March, 2025,” the gazette notice read.

The appointment of Caroline Njoki Maina was revoked.

Additionally, Lands and public works CS Alice Wahome appointed Ruth Okal as a member of the Land Acquisition Tribunal.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 133A (2) (c) of the Land Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, appoints Ruth Okal as a member of the Land Acquisition Tribunal,” Wahome said in the notice.

Oparanya on his part, appointed John Wambugu to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the March 7, 2025.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 (1) (g) (I) (bb) of the Micro and Small Enterprises Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development appoints John Wambugu Kihonge to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority,” the notice read.
