Isiolo South Member of Parliament (MP) Mohamed Tubi is dead. The MP died on Wednesday, November 12, while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula confirmed the passing of Mohamed.
"It is with profound sorrow that I inform you and the nation of the demise of our esteemed colleague, the Member for Isiolo South Constituency, the Hon. Tubi Bidu Mohamed, MP, who has left us this evening, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital," he said in a statement on Wednesday evening.
"As we come to terms with this great loss, let us remember Hon. Mohamed for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace."
Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo eulogised the MP as a principled and courageous leader.
"Deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Mohamed Tubi Bidu, Member of Parliament for Isiolo South, this evening at Nairobi Hospital. He was steadfast in his convictions and always guided by a deep desire to uplift the lives of his constituents and foster unity across our county," he said.
"Mohamed previously served with distinction as the first Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, where he laid a strong foundation for the growth of our devolved governance system. He was a principled and courageous leader, steadfast in his convictions and always guided by a deep desire to uplift the lives of his constituents and foster unity across our county.
The governor added that his passing is a profound loss not only to Isiolo South but to the entire Isiolo community and the nation at large.
"My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Isiolo South during this difficult time. May the Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and comfort his loved ones," he said.
Mohamed previously served as Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly between 2013 and 2017.
He also served as Chief Game Warden at Samburu Park, Maasai Mara National Reserve and Isiolo Parks.
The late MP held a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development from Gretsa University and a Diploma in Wildlife at the College of African Wildlife Management in Moshi, Tanzania.
