Arsenal fans hold thanksgiving ceremony, Receive Blessings to Win EPL

Kenyan Arsenal Football Club Fans have today held a thanksgiving ceremony at the ACK Old Stadium in Embu County.

The Fans, who conveyed to share in the spirit of unity, have reportedly received blessings to win the English Premier league this season.

Speaking to JULISHA after the event, Mbuthia, an attendee, expressed Optimism at the Club's ability to end the long trophy dryspell this season.

"Arteta's tactics have been working, we were unlucky last season not to win the league but this is our season. The slow start should not rule us out of contention, the team has good depth and competitors are not flopping" he said.

Florence, seconded this, as she opined the club should consider signing a few players to strengthen the squad. The Gunner, stated that the club's run in the Champions League is also another reason to keep believing.

"We need to sign a midfielder to strengthen our attacking, the boys are outperforming our expectations in the Champions League, we will keep supporting and Praying for them" She Said.

Meanwhile, Arsenal on Saturday, January 25, secured a narrow win over Wolves in their Premier League match as they continue their chase.

The Gunners headed into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa at the weekend, having surrendered a two-goal lead.

However, they were able to put the draw behind them and got a 1-0 victory over struggling Wolves.

The Wolves team were unchanged from their 3-1 defeat at Chelsea on Monday, while Mikel Arteta made five changes from Arsenal's 3-0 Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb in mid-week.

William Saliba and Ethan Nwaneri returned for the Gunner, with Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino missing from the squad.

Arsenal started the game brightly but could not get the lead in the first half instead got a red card via a Lewis-Skelly tackle.

In the second half, Arsenal showed more intensity despite being one man down and pushed the hosts back to their half.

As the game went on, Wolves also got a man sent off, which puts the game back into balance for Arsenal.

Shortly after the red card, Arteta’s men took the lead through substitute Calafiori.

The Gunners held on until the final whistle and claimed a narrow win over Wolves.

In a different Fixture, Manchester City extended their unbeaten run to six Premier League games with an impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola said his men had to respond after their disappointing collapse against PSG in midweek, and they did it in style, defeating Enzo Maresca's men 3-1 to climb into the top four.

The pre-match anticipation was stoked by Guardiola's decision to hand starts to new signings Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov, the first Uzbekistani player to feature in the Premier League.

However, Khusanov's calamitous error in the third minute allowed Chelsea to take the lead. A looping ball bounced over his head, and his weak header fell into the path of Nicolas Jackson, who laid off for Noni Madueke to score into an empty net.

City regained their composure and ended the half on top. Joško Gvardiol capitalized on a well-timed run by Matheus Nunes, sweeping home the equalizer.

In the second half, Erling Haaland chipped a poorly positioned Robert Sánchez to give City the lead. That was Sanchez's 5th error leading to goal in the Premier League this season, and perhaps the most costly.

Haaland then showed strength to hold off his marker, laying off the ball for Phil Foden to slot home his sixth goal in four Premier League appearances, sealing the win for City.

The result lifts Manchester City to fourth, while Chelsea drop to sixth, with just one win in their last 7 league games.

Elsewhere, Liverpool made light work of relegation-threatened Ipswich Town, winning 4-1 to remain six points clear at the top of the Premier League standings.

Cody Gakpo was the star of the show as Liverpool ran riot against Ipswich at Anfield.

Liverpool's early dominance paid off in the 11th minute. Ibrahima Konaté's line-breaking pass found Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored with a wonderful left-footed finish.

Ipswich's chances were dampened further when Wes Burns suffered a serious-looking knee injury and was stretchered off. The visitors' woes continued as Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool's advantage with a sublime finish from a Cody Gakpo cross.

Gakpo turned home a rebound from Szoboszlai's initial effort to make it 3-0 on the stroke of halftime, becoming the third Dutchman to score in five successive Premier League home games.

After the break, Ipswich focused on damage limitation, but Liverpool added a fourth goal when Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross picked out Gakpo, who headed home his eighth Premier League goal of the campaign.

Alexander-Arnold came close to scoring a fifth on two occasions, but Liverpool settled for a 4-1 win, with Ipswich scoring a consolation goal in the 90th minute through Jacob Greaves.
