Facebook to Delete Live Videos After 30 Days

Social App Facebook has announced plans to begin automatically deleting live videos after 30 days of recording.

According to Meta's statement, the new changes will take effect this month for all users who use the live feature. Facebook users will be informed of the exact date when the changes will be effected on their account via email.

The company added that the videos will also be deleted from the Meta servers after 30 days.

As revealed by Meta, users will be notified of the changes through their registered email address. Once the email is sent, one will have 90 days to download past videos.

The past videos can be downloaded directly to the mobile phone storage or transferred to the cloud. To download your live videos, select your live videos, then choose a date range to see videos available to download.

"If you need more time, you can postpone the deletion for six months. Note: You'll only be able to postpone the deletion of your live videos once. After six months, your past live videos will be deleted.

"Live videos from memorialised accounts are not subject to this policy. Once an account has been memorialised, the content that the person shared will remain on Facebook and will be visible to the audience with whom it was shared," Meta added.
