It is all or nothing as Kenya Police Bullets take on JKT Queens of Tanzania in the CAF Women's Champions League - CECAFA qualifier 2025 Semi Finals, at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani in Nairobi.
Fans can expect two thrilling encounters as the teams’ battle for a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League finals later this year.
Kenya booked a place in the semifinal after winning all their two group matches, the latest being a 2-0 win over Eritrea’s Denden FC in a Group a Clash courtesy of goals from Emily Kemunto and Zaina Namuleme.
Victory would propel Kenya Police Bullets into a historic final and keep them on the brink of earning a ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League, the continent’s ultimate women’s club competition.
Their opponents, Tanzania’s JKT Queens, arrive at the semifinals buoyed by convincing victories over South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars (2-0) and Zanzibar’s JKU SCZ (4-0). Known for their quick transitions and physical approach, they are expected to provide a stern test for the hosts.
Police Bullets Coach Beldine Odemba while addressing the media in a Nairobi hotel ahead of the highly anticipated semi-finals shared insights on their journey so far, the level of competition, and their determination to secure a ticket to the continental finals.
“Playing at home gives us motivation, but we respect our opponents. The semi-final will be tough, and we are fully prepared,” she said.
Police Bullets captain Annete Kundu said that “We want to make history for our club and Kenyan women’s football. The fans have been incredible, and we will give them a performance to remember”.
JKT Queens Coach Azishi Kondo said match will be a great tactical game and they believe Police Bullets is a big team noting that they are well prepared and are confident for a win.
“We are focused, motivated, and ready for the challenge. Playing in the semi-final means everything to us, and we will fight to reach the final. We are on a mission to bring the cup back home” said Kondo.
The four semi-finalists of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers 2025 are Kenya Police Bullets (Kenya) and JKT Queens (Tanzania), Rayon Sports Women FC (Rwanda) and Kampala Queens (Uganda).
Kampala Queens Coach Asefa Firew Hailegebreal said that every game in this tournament has pushed the team to be better.
“The semi-finals will require discipline, teamwork, and character, qualities our team has shown consistently” he said.
The semi-final fixtures will be played on Sunday (today), September 14, 2025 at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
