TikTok has removed more than 884,000 videos uploaded by Kenyan users between January and March 2026 for violating the platform’s Community Guidelines, according to its latest enforcement report.
The Q1 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, released on Thursday, July 23, 2026 shows TikTok took down 884,591 videos in Kenya during the three-month period. The platform said 99.7% of that content was detected and removed before users reported it.
It also revealed that 96.3% of the videos that violated its guidelines were removed within 24 hours of being posted.
“The action is part of our continued efforts to enforce safety rules and protect users from harmful content on the platform,” reads the report.
TikTok noted it deleted 48,739 accounts in Kenya suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13, aligning with its Community Guidelines.

The platform also interrupted 103,847 LIVE rooms in Kenya after they were found to have breached its guidelines.
“In the latest report, TikTok emphasises its commitment to keeping the TikTok Live experience safe. The platform has noted a further rise in the number of Live streams being interrupted and the number of Live monetisation enforcement actions (both demonetisation and warnings),” reads the report.
Live enforcement has become a key focus for TikTok globally as it tries to curb harmful behavior, scams, and inappropriate content during real-time broadcasts.
Globally, TikTok removed 184,012,576 videos in Q1 2026. That represents about 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform during the period.
Of those, 178,014,154 videos were detected and taken down using automated detection technologies. A further 8,838,710 videos were restored after further review.
TikTok recorded a 99.3% proactive removal rate globally, with 94.4% of flagged content removed within 24 hours of posting.
The company said the high proactive rate shows its investment in automation is helping catch violations faster, before they reach wide audiences.
TikTok also reported that it removed 14,261 videos globally under its policy on edited media and artificial intelligence-generated content during the quarter.
The platform requires users to label realistic AI-generated content through creator labelling tools and automated detection models.
TikTok said it uses the Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) Content Credentials standard to identify content that has been generated or significantly edited using artificial intelligence.
The company recently joined the Steering Committee of the Coalition for C2PA to support the adoption of AI transparency technology across the industry.
According to TikTok, its AI content labelling efforts have so far been applied to more than three billion videos.
TikTok said it continues to use a combination of automated moderation tools and human safety teams to enforce its Community Guidelines. The teams address harmful content including misinformation, hate speech and other policy violations.
“TikTok remains committed to inspiring creativity and bringing joy while prioritising the safety and well-being of its Kenyan community. By combining advanced automated moderation tools with the expertise of thousands of trust and safety professionals worldwide, TikTok continues to enforce its Community Guidelines consistently and at scale, addressing harmful content such as misinformation, hate speech, and other policy violations,” the platform said.
The numbers point to a stricter enforcement period for TikTok in Kenya. With nearly all removals happening proactively and most within a day, the platform is aiming to catch violating content early.
This comes months after TikTok revealed it removed 820,552 videos posted by Kenyan users on the social media platform in the last quarter of 2025.
In a report released on Tuesday, May 19, TikTok said 99.9% of the videos were removed before anyone reported them, with 98.4% of the videos taken down within 24 hours of posting.
“In the fourth quarter of 2025, TikTok removed 820,552 videos in Kenya for violating its Community Guidelines. 99.9% of these videos were proactively removed before anyone reported them, while 98.4% were taken down within 24 hours of posting.
“These figures underscore TikTok’s continued investment in advanced detection systems and rapid response mechanisms designed to limit the spread of harmful content,” read the report.
TikTok said it will continue publishing quarterly reports to increase transparency around how it enforces rules and keeps the platform safe.
