KENYA : Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hit back at President William Ruto, who labelled him as incompetent and corrupt.
Speaking on Monday, January 27, the Former Dp stated that President Ruto should be the last person to lecture anyone on Corruption, a vice he's famously infamous for.
Gachagua, revealed that the State House, Nairobi, under President Ruto's administration, is the epicenter of corrupt activities in the country.
"Ruto went to western and lied I was impeached because I'm corrupt, William Ruto, do you have the Moral Authority to talk about Corruption? The State House in Nairobi is the real center of Corrupt activities. Mr President, before you talk about corruption, take a mirror and look at yourself" Said Gachagua.
The Former Deputy President Echoed similar remarks he Made Four days ago.
Speaking on Thursday, January 23, Gachagua claimed that Kenyans were well aware of who was truly corrupt and incompetent in the country.
He further asserted that the events of the past two years demonstrated outright incompetence of the government and added that Kenyans were fully aware of the prevailing issues.
"When you talk about corruption, people of this country know who is corrupt. When you talk about incompetence, people know who is incompetent. That is where we are as a country. If you ask people what has happened in this country in two years, that is sheer incompetence.
When you talk about people who are corrupt and incompetent, just take the mirror and look at yourself because Kenyans know better. They know exactly where we are. People are very intelligent,” Gachagua remarked.
At the same time, the former deputy president asked the president to cease discussing him during his development tours and instead focus on development.
"I want to ask the president and those in Western Kenya, please deal with the issues in western Kenya. Rigathi Gachagua is not the solution to the problems in Western Kenya. A whole president and a whole brigade go to a whole region and instead of discussing development, they are discussing Gachagua," Gachagua stated.
The remarks come after President Ruto on Wednesday last week, claimed that Gachagua was unable to perform his duties while in office.
Speaking in Luanda, Vihiga County, the head of state further labelled the former deputy president as a tribalist.
"There are some people who we gave them work and because of incompetence, not understanding anything, theft, conmanship, corruption, hatred, their plan and work flopped. I want to tell them that they will continue failing because Kenya does not have any space for people who are corrupt, do not know how to work and are tribalists," President Ruto remarked.

DAP-Kenya Party leader Eugene Wamalwa m, during the launch, stated that he had resolved to vie for the presidency in the coming elections after consultations with the party members.

"My party made a resolution that it was no longer tenable for us to continue being there. We start a new journey, to look for new friends and partners. Azimio died last year."
He added that the party was no longer part of Azimio following the decision by some ODM leaders to join the government.
On the other hand, he expressed that he was willing and ready to work with other leaders in readiness for the 2027 race.
The party leader also revealed that he was in talks with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i over a possible alliance.
