I used to be a Deejay at the University of Nairobi - Gachagua

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed he used to work as a Deejay during his earlier years at the University of Nairobi.

Speaking on Friday night, Gachagua claimed that he is not only a politician but also a businessman who has always had an eye for entrepreneurship, since he was a student.

Gachagua, said that he acquired the entertainment 'trade-tools' a disco system, for deejaying at the cost of Ksh 25,000, noting that the amount of cash was a lot back then, equivalent to about Sh 20Million in today's exchange rate.

" I was a DJ for fun and for making money, I'm also a businessman. I bought a disco system at a cost of about twenty-five thousand. It was a lot of money back then, it would be equivalent today to about twenty-million. That was in the 80's and I would charge to deejay for you one night, 1500." said Gachagua.

The former Deputy President, claimed that his mobile disco, saw him get a moniker, "Chagua Disco" as an entertainment name.

He went ahead to name a few songs that made top-charts, including Michael Jackson's thriller and a variety of dance styles he was good at including break dance.

The former DP stated those were the good old days, urging young Kenyas to take advantage of their youth to enjoy themselves.

Meanwhile, Gachagua also slammed President William Ruto's administration for its shortcomings, stating that the head of state has betrayed the electorate that believed in the Kenya-Kwanza administration.

The former Dp, stated that Ruto's ouster is inevitable. "Even if Ruto appoints Oscar Sudi and Farouk Kibet to the IEBC, he will still lose in 2027." said Gachagua.

According to him, the Kenyan electorate is tired of constant lies and will not rest until they see to it the incumbent makes history as the country's first ever one-term President.
