Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday, May 4, hosted a high-profile delegation of political leaders at his Wamunyoro residence for a special Sunday service.
The gathering brought together prominent figures from various political parties and regions across the country.
Among those in attendance were former Wiper Party leader and Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka who went bearing gifts, gifting Gachagua and his spouse Goats.
Also Present was Former Interior Cabinet Secretary and Jubilee Party Presidential Aspirant Fred Matiang’i, who recently returned to the country and declared his presidential bid on Friday.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi, People's Liberation Party leader Martha Karua and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa were also in attendance.
DAP-K Deputy Party Leader Wafula Wamunyinyi, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui were also part of the congregation.

Also present were Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang'wa, former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, and former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi.
In an update on social media following the meeting, Gachagua described the engagement as productive and inspiring.
He also noted that discussions revolved around the anticipated launch of a new political party and the strategic role the two counties will play in its foundation.
“In the fullness of time, our nation Kenya, belongs to us all; a people determined to bequeath our future generation a strong economy, a nation full of opportunities and progress unmatched,” he said in part.
Photos from the event show the leaders and locals engaged in conversation and moments of lighthearted camaraderie.
Gachagua has been hosting leaders from the larger Mt. Kenya region and all over the country at his Wamunyoro residence as he garners support for the opposition's 2027 Presidential Bid.
This meeting comes weeks after Gachagua revealed that they will name their presidential candidate a few months before the 2027 polls.
Speaking in Machakos County last month, the former DP revealed December 2026 as the possible timeline to name the candidate who will challenge President William Ruto.
Gachagua added that talks were currently ongoing regarding the team to challenge Ruto in the next general elections.
He explained that the opposition team could not name their candidate in advance, expressing fears over a plot by the government to cause divisions among them
"They are trying to come up with ways to cause divisions, but we are not stupid. We cannot go against each other. Are we stupid? We shall remain silent until December 2026, when we will announce who the person is. If we talk right now, they will plot against us. We are patriotic, and we will put our selfish interests aside for the benefit of the people of this country," he stated.
Additionally, during the same meeting in Machakos, Gachagua hinted at a possible alliance with several leaders including Matiang’i.
He revealed that talks are underway to form a united political front aimed at charting a new path for the country.
“We have listened to Kenyans who have said we come together and form a government that would take the country forward. I’m doing that with Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, George Natembeya and Fred Matiang’i. I want to assure the people of Kenya that we have a formula to give you good leadership," he said.
