    Peter Salasya Attacked by Gunmen

    Peter Salasya Attacked by Gunmen

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has reportedly been attacked by gunmen, days after another attack.

Salasya who is on a countrywide presidential campaign, was in Isiolo county.

According to updates shared on his social media accounts the said men were masked and armed with AK47 and shot at his vehicle.

“Multiple unidentified vehicles intercepted and opened fire on our convoy. The tires of the car carrying Salasya were shot and the vehicle has been immobilized,” read a statement posted on his X.

“His bodyguards have been disarmed, and Salasya has been taken by force. This is a serious threat to his life and immediate intervention is needed. We urgently appeal for help from police.”

He however went on to mention that he had been arrested on his way from Isiolo heading towards Nanyuki.

This comes days after Salasya narrowly escaped arrest at a hotel in Mombasa on Saturday May 10, 2025 at night after residents confronted the police officers.

Speaking shortly after the incident, MP Salasya said the men—who claimed to be police officers—failed to produce any identification documents or an arrest warrant. He condemned the attempted arrest.

“I want to categorically condemn the reckless, shameful, and cowardly attempt by unidentified individuals purporting to be police officers who stormed my hotel residence in Mombasa earlier today to unlawfully arrest me,” he wrote on his official X account.

“Let it be clear, this was not an arrest. It was a criminal act disguised as law enforcement—an attack not just on me as a Member of Parliament and 2027 presidential candidate, but on the democratic space of this nation.” He added.

Meanwhile, the flamboyant Kenyan parliamentarian known for his social media antics and populist rhetoric, recently exuded confidence that he will win the 2027 presidential election.

The Mumias East Member of Parliament, has expressed confidence that he would make an exceptional and unforgettable President of Kenya, claiming that his background and ability to relate with the common Mwananchi gives him an edge.

In a statement shared on his Social Media pages, the outspoken legislator highlighted his unique qualities and strong commitment to serving the country.

Salasya, told off critics who are downplaying his influence, recounting his earlier journey and struggles in his bid to become a legislator.

" I won Mumias East Mp on basis of principles and I am winning presidency on the basis of Principles. Let them speak as i continue hitting the road harder" Salasya said.

Salasya also dismissed claims that he is a project of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.

He said the claims are nothing but cheap propaganda manufactured by people who are terrified of the political wave he is building across the nation.

“I am not a UDA project. I am not funded by State House. I have never received a single cent from any government official,” Salasya remarked.

Salasya further assured that not a single cent from Mumias East NG-CDF kitty has been misused.

" Not even a shilling. Our projects are visible, trackable, and transformative. Ask the students, the schools, the hospitals, and the parents on the ground. We’re delivering, not looting,” he stated.

The lawmaker said he is supported by a network of patriotic Kenyans who want change, not cartels.

"What you’re witnessing isn’t money at work. It’s pure strategy, unmatched charisma, and massive goodwill from Kenyans who believe in the future I represent.” said Salasya.
