Kenyans have been urged to be cautious about information circulating on social media that falsely links statements to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Office of the 4th President has warned that unauthorised posts misrepresenting the retired leader are spreading online, creating confusion among the public.
In a statement shared on X on January 29, 2026, the office expressed concern, noting that these messages are entirely unauthorised and do not reflect the views or positions of Uhuru.
The statement highlighted the importance of using only verified channels when seeking information about the former president or the Jubilee Party.
“We wish to remind the public that any official communication from the retired President or his office will only be disseminated through our established and verified channels: Office of the 4th President or the official Jubilee Party verified platforms,” it said.
The office underscored its commitment to providing accurate and timely information. “The office remains committed to ensuring that accurate information is shared promptly and promptly, so that the public is reliably informed,” the statement added.
False claims circulating online have included fabricated statements about the former president holding political rallies in the Mt Kenya region and commenting on current economic and political issues. These posts create the impression that Uhuru is actively involved in debates, despite no official communication being issued.
The public is directly appealed to play a role in stopping misinformation. “We urge all citizens to exercise vigilance, verify information before sharing, and avoid amplifying falsehoods that erode public trust,” the office said. “The dignity of the Office of the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya remains paramount.”
