Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has cautioned President William Ruto against interfering with the Mt. Kenya region, telling the head of state to keep off the affairs of the region.
Speaking on December 15, 2024, during a Sunday Service in Nyeri County, the Impeached Deputy President, reignited his attack on the Government, while at the same time defending the Mt. Kenya region.
Gachagua, stated that William Ruto is President courtesy of the votes he received from the Mt Kenya region block. The Former DP, urged Ruto to stop frustrating residents of the region and leave them alone'.
" William Ruto, Mt Kenya Votes made you President, Since you don't want to help us and you don't want to come up with any meaningful development for Mt Kenya, stop frustrating us, stop bringing division in our people, leave us alone". Rigathi Said.
The Former DP, urged youths in the region not to accept to be 'used by Politicians for selfish gains. According to Gachagua, most politicians in the country are causing division among the youth in the country causing infighting, for political mileage.
Gachagua, emphasized it was not worth it, for the youth to accept to be paid peanuts by the political class, fight their brother's and sisters, only to be dumped by the politician after a short stint.
" All I want to is urge our youth in Mt Kenya not to be used by any politician to fight their brother or sister for small money. Eventually you're left out in the cold. I want to encourage our youth to keep voicing their concern in one voice." Gachagua stated.
Gachagua's sentiments, stem from his attack on former president Uhuru Kenyatta, prior to the former DP's fall out with President Ruto.
Gachagua who later revealed he had reconciled with Retired president Uhuru, expressed regret at having been used by Ruto as a pawn to attack 'his brother' from the Mt Kenya Region.
In a unprecedented twist however, Gachagua was impeached as the East African Country's Deputy, while president William Ruto recently visited former President Uhuru Kenyatta in his Ichaweri home, Kiambu County.
Speculation has been rifle on the motive behind Ruto's visit to the Former President's home despite the duo downplaying the visit as a courtesy call.
A JULISHA Political analysist has hinted the Ruto-Uhuru Make-up is President Ruto's first move to solidifying his Mt Kenya base ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
President Ruto has been having a hard time in the Vote-Rich Mt Kenya, following Rigathi Gachagua's Impeachment. Resident's have pointed an accusatory finger for what they term as 'betrayal of the region.
Coupled by Underperforming and Overtaxation allegations, the 'hustler' is no longer a darling, having recently been forced to cut short his speech during a Public Event address in the region after he was heckled by the Crowd in attendance.
President Ruto, is facing growing disdain from electorate in the vast Mt. Kenya region, which poses a significant challenge to his ambitious plan of hiving off a significant chunk of the region's vote block next election and this is pretty clear to him, after he was heckled in the Region last month.
The president joined other leaders in Embu on Saturday, November 16, to attend Bishop Peter Kimani's ordination to the Catholic Diocese of Embu. While underscoring the importance of the affordable housing programme and SHIF rollout, Ruto met the backlash of the citizenry one on one, which jeered at him in disapprova.
Since then, Uhuru and Ruto have been in secret talks. It is believed the president wants to use his predecessor to re-endear himself to the Mt Kenya electorate in the face of the growing disdain fueled by the impeachment of his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.
What the President thought a classic move by replacing his deputy, Gachagua with Kithure Kindiki who's also from the region, does not seem to have helped cool resident's disdain for the Head of state.
Meanwhile, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed he will announce his way forward January 2025, Following his impeachment.
Speaking during a Church Service on November 24, Gachagua weighed in on the Political future of the Mt. Kenya region. The Former DP, alleged that the region he defended during his tenure in government, is under threat from state influence.
"They are saying it does not matter whether the People from Mt. Kenya Region are Angry, they will pay them out, buy them with money come 2027" Gachagua Said.
The Former Dp, cautioned the state against undermining the region's influence, affirming that residents have shifted their allegiance.
"What was witnessed in Murang'a and Embu was just a tip of the iceberg." Gachagua emphasized, in reference to the Church Event where President William Ruto was booed by congregants while trying to explain the Social Health Authority And Affordable Housing Project.
The Murang'a example came after Moses Kuria, Ruto's senior advisor was forced to cut short his speech and flee after mourners heckled him and also refused to listen to the current Deputy President Kindiki's Condolences message during the burial ceremony of a Nominated Murang'a MCA.
Rigathi Gachagua, has also poked holes into President William Ruto's administration over the cancelation of the Adani deal, claiming it was quite concerning the government only cancelled the deals after Adani CEO was inducted for Graft in the United States, despite widespread exposure and Criticism of the Indian Firm's proposed deals in Kenya, shrouded in Mystery. He has also been consistently opposed to the Social Health Authority and Over taxation.
