KENYA : Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua says that the GEMA bloc - consisting of Agikuyu, Embu, Meru and Akamba Communities - will not only secure all elective Posts in Nairobi City, but also Win the State House Race in the 2027 General Election.
The Former Dp, addressing Worshippers at Gospel Confirmation Centre GCC, Machakos County on Sunday, March 2, 2025, exuded confidence in the Mt Kenya Region Bloc's ability to ''Oust President William Ruto at the ballot and Take the Top Seat.
Mr. Gachagua, also reassured congregants that the GEMA Bloc will grab the Nairobi Governorship from Sakaja and that Members Of Parliament, MCAs in the City will come from the four Communities.
Additionally, he dismissed Raila Odinga's importance to the cause, a week after saying he would not mind working with the ODM Party Chief. The Former Dp, claimed that the Region, does not necessarily need Odinga's support to secure the top-seat.
Gachagua - was not yet done - as he slammed President William Ruto, accusing the head of state of failing in his leadership's Manifesto implementation, which has left Kenyans grappling with a high cost of living, Over-taxation and a failing health scheme in Social Health Authority (SHA).
The Former Dp, who has been on an endless onslaught of the Kenya-Kwanza Administration since his Impeachment, accused the President of Looting from Kenyans and Piling the cash in a container at State House, Nairobi.
Gachagua, claimed that President Ruto, has a Container in State House, holding Ksh 1.3 Trillion.
" We (Mt Kenya) Promised Ruto to Make his the President Of Kenya and We did. But Then he turned on us and betrayed us, We have learnt our lesson and Moved on, Now We are a new formation. We Will Not Beg Raila, if he Comes, Well and Good, If he doesn't, We Still Will Remove Ruto From Office. Kenyans are tired, Ruto ameiba Ksh 1.3 Trillion Ameeka Kwa Macontainer Pale State House. Nairobi, tutahakikisha Kila Mtu atachaguliwa ametoka GEMA". Said Gachagua.
His remarks, come just days after he stated that any Mount Kenya region vote-block backed candidate, will easily win the 2027 Presidential General Elections.
Speaking on the shifting political landscape last week, Gachagua emphasized that his relationship with President William Ruto had reached an irreparable breaking point, accusing the President of turning his back on the Mount Kenya region, arguing that the promises made to the community had not been fulfilled.
According to Gachagua, the region's political interests must take precedence over personal loyalties, and he is willing to explore new alliances that align with the aspirations of his people.
He also noted that many Mt Kenya leaders have assured him that they are ready to ditch the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party for his new party.
Asked about the coalitions he is currently seeking with other opposition parties, Gachagua insisted that he will be keen not to repeat the mistake he made in the 2022 elections.
The former DP said that he has two years to create a serious political machine, hinting at the Possibility of Working with ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga, if an Opportunity Presents itself.
“I'm happy and this is God sent, I have time to craft a very serious political party and by the way, I do admire Raila Odinga and ODM. We may have had problems with Raila but give it to him. He crafted a very serious political machine that has been there for 20 years." he noted.
“The quality of leaders elected under ODM is admirable and I'll be going to ODM for benchmarking. I must talk to Raila Odinga, ask him how did you craft this machine and how have you kept it going for 20 years?” Gachagua said.
“I have two years to create a very serious political machine. I'll make sure that in whatever coalition we go and whoever, I will make sure our interests are well anchored through a water-tight agreement,” he added.
While he did not confirm any formal discussions with Odinga, he left the door open for potential cooperation, signaling a significant realignment in the country’s political arena. However, Mr Odinga Said he will reveal the Way Forward Next Week while Speculation has been rifle he could Work with President Ruto.
For now, it remains to be seen how this political dynamic will unfold, with Gachagua meeting Martha Karua and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, as consultations and political alignments take shape.
