Dp Kindiki : Government to complete all projects

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Friday reassured Nyandarua residents that the Kenya-Kwanza government will complete all projects it promised them before 2027.

Speaking when he launched resumption of tarmacking of the 27.5-kilometer Tumaini-Gwa Kiongo-Kabazi road in Ol Kalou constituency, Kindiki promised to camp in the County to ensure the projects are completed quickly.

Kindiki said the road will cost Sh1.1 billion and the contractor has returned to the site after he was paid his pending dues.

In addition to the road, Kindiki said the government will upgrade other roads in Nyandarua County totaling 282km.

The Deputy President also announced that Sh500 million was available for immediate electrification in the County and Sh1.6 billion will be used in the next two years to connect 600,000 homes in the country to power through the Kenya-kwanza rural electrification initiative.

Those who think they will use the stalled projects as a political weapon against us will be surprised because all the roads, electrification and markets projects will be completed before 2027,” Kindiki said.

Kindiki also inspected the ongoing construction of a modern market at Gwa-Kiongo town noting that the market will have cold rooms where traders will store their perishable goods to avoid post-harvest losses.

This market will have a breastfeeding section for mothers, a boardroom where traders will hold their meetings and also a digital hub for those doing digital jobs,” he said.

He added the government has decided to shelve politics and concentrate on delivering on promises made during campaigns.
