Homa Bay Town MP George Peter Kaluma has challenged the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over statements attributed to him, demanding the commission provide an accurate transcription and translation before he appears for questioning.
In a letter dated August 18, 2026 addressed to NCIC, Kaluma acknowledged receipt of the summons dated August 17. He however asked the commission to furnish him with what he termed the correct versions of the statements attributed to him.
“Do note that both the transcription and the translation of the utterances attributed to me are erroneous. Kindly provide the correct transcription and translation and revert herewith for my response,” Kaluma said.
The legislator also asked NCIC to postpone his appearance. He said he would be engaged in unavoidable State duties on Wednesday, August 19, and requested that his appearance be rescheduled to a date after August 27.
“Please reschedule my attendance before the Commission to a date after 27th August, 2026,” he said.
Kaluma however indicated his willingness to cooperate with the commission once the matter is rescheduled.
“Remain assured that I relish the opportunity to appear before you and assist the Commission in the discharge of its statutory mandate for the benefit of our country,” he said.
The summons comes days after Kaluma was captured on video addressing a group of suspected supporters in Homa Bay ahead of a planned rally on Sunday. In the viral clip, the MP is heard urging the group to ransack hotels and flush out members of the Linda Mwananchi movement.
“I am ordering that from this moment, let’s go out and conduct a door to door search in all places of accommodation and get them out. I am also warning hotel owners here in Homa Bay Town to be careful of who they are hosting tonight. We shall cross with that guest and, if need be, even the hotel,” he was heard saying.
In another video shared widely online, Kaluma told a crowd that political opponents were already in Homa Bay.
“Some people are saying they will come tomorrow. That is not true. They are already here,” he said.
According to the legislator, political rivals had infiltrated Orange Democratic Movement circles.
“I met you last time and realised that there are people who are ready to join them. Some were noting down names of people who will join the team,” Kaluma said.
He cautioned that Homa Bay Town would not tolerate anyone opposed to the re-election of President William Ruto.
“As from today, we are declaring that anyone saying ‘One Term’, we shall ‘cross with him’. If you know that you are a Gachagua sympathiser, please disappear,” he warned.
Kaluma further announced that he had provided funds for fuel to ferry people to different hotels in search of their political competitors.
“I have already sorted out your leaders. Your fuel for today has been catered for,” he said.
The MP also warned the Linda Mwananchi team against taking what he called the ‘useless wantam’ slogans to Homa Bay County. He said projects in the county had been built by President William Ruto.
“When you come to Homa Bay, please remember the airstrip, the piers and the roads you land, anchor and drive on as you shout your useless ‘wantam’ political slogans have been built by President William Ruto. Your Gachagua and Uhuru built nothing here and never cared to know we exist,” Kaluma said.
